Morning. When the light is gentle and the world seems new. After a day of being buffeted by wind, the island of Santorini woke up to a quiet October sky. The restlessness of the previous day had been swept into the air, leaving the only remnant of its violence in a display of gentle hues. Dust raised by the wind and gathered into the atmosphere spread an orange glow from horizon to horizon, and an even, fresh light from rooftop to rooftop.
