Having something carved in stone has a certain finality to it; as if it will never change because it won’t. Resting beneath this stone carving I saw something else that stirred memories that have been carved in my mind since I was a child. A bike. Riding a bike is a rite of passage for any child; it gets you from point A to point B long before driving was even thought of. Any memory is happy on a bike and will stay there long past your youthful years and into the beginnings of your own family where you pass those memories on. So in this image we see something lasting both time and memory; something that has been ridden in stone.
